Soft Round Cheese Milk Dessert with Sweet Sauce

  1. Natural Sugar/ honey
  2. Whole Milk
  3. Vinegar
  4. Saffron

Making Rasgulla

  • Take 400 grams of fresh whole milk, place it on heat, bring the temperature up and then take it off the heat, and add 2-3 tbsp of vinegar, mix and milk will start to curdle.
  • Next strain the mixture with cheesecloth, run some water through it to wash and strain again. Thereafter, hang and let it drip for an hour or possibly overnight for best results.
  • After that is done, knead it to bring it together and to get a soft, smooth dough.
  • Now divide into appropriate portions and form spheres out of it.

Making Caramel/ Sugar Sauce

In a pan placed on heat take 500ml of water, add 250 g of sugar (honey), few slightly crushed cardamon, 5 ml of apple cider vinegar. Thereafter, stir and bring it to a boil and let it thicken; then turn off the heat once done.


Now immerse the prepared sphere dough portions in the hot sugar syrup, cover and keep it on medium heat for around 5 minutes. And then for further 8 minutes on low to medium heat. Take it off the heat and let it cool altogether and then refrigerate.

Finally garnish with saffron, nuts and serve.
